Finished! Voila!
So...E'sa, it fits a little large especially considering this was supposed to be a really fitted sweater. Definitely something to wear next to the fire or over other clothes (I vote for the latter).
It's made per the original, hence no buttons, but could have those added. Maybe wood toggles? If I do add a closure, it would be toggles. I love the length of this sweater. Love it!
I have yarn I ordered as part of my Christmas present from Karen (or was it birthday?) that was intended to become my own dark blue CPH (with toggles). But, man, this thing is warm and it's just acrylic. The yarn I have is alpaca and wool! Maybe I'll make something else with it instead.
All I need to do now is just weave in the last of the threads and it is totally complete. Yay!

AND I LOVE IT!
I love the style!!!!
Nakakainis ang ganda ng gawa mo!!!
I wonder when I'll get good enough to crochet clothes? However, the crocheted clothes don't look half as good as the knitted ones! I'm saying this based on some pictures I saw from sites where patterns can be had. Yours looks like a machine made it. It's super ganda!!!
I also love the first post you did of this, the one without the sleeves. That was really cute, too. Pang-gimik!
Crochet vs. knit...the big difference is the drape, I think. That's why a lot of crochet stuff tends to look bulky but if you do thinner yarn on bigger needles, maybe it will have a similar drape to knitted? I'm not sure though. There are definitely times when crochet is better like amigurumi or the stuff that the person who has monstercrochet.com does (I think that's the name of the site).
Krissa - I'll email you. I'll take you to Michaels :)
Jes...do you get the Knitting Daily newsletter? It's the year of being brave!
The only thing that I don't like about knitting is the needles. Wish it didn't have to take two needles.
I think the afghan stitch resembles the knitting output. I don't know if it'll drape the same though.
I know what you mean about the two needles, but once you get the hang of it, you realize it's similar in how it works, but you have more "live" stitches that can become unraveled vs. just one stitch with crochet. It takes getting used to and expecting a lot of mistakes and redos.
I have to look up the afghan stitch...never heard! Check out Interweave Crochet magazine. The latest has a crocheted hat with an effect like cables.
You were already a brave knitter; I wonder what you'll do this year if you're going to be braver? :D
Sorry, I haven't had much time or energy for playing on the computer...so I'm a little delayed. I like it alot......send it with your hubby :o)
