wow, I'm tired.
In case you hadn't heard me say it enough here, the office life is most definitely not for me. I don't know how it can be for any woman who enjoys a social life, hobbies, or the companionship of a working musician.
I am, however, a woman with a (temporary) office job who is also currently enjoying a social life, a couple of hobbies and the companionship of a working musician (who thankfully is working in a different town for the next week or i would probably be way more exhausted than i am).
i have to get up at 5:30am if i spend the night at his house. this past weekend was a halfway point on the tour he's on - meaning he basically ducked into town for a couple of nights, and we had a rendezvous.
gone were my solo plans for yoga, knitting and watching a movie and getting to bed early. Instead I stopped at the grocery store and picked up a bottle of wine, a cheap and tasty cab he introduced me to when we started dating. it's easy to drink and we can down a bottle of it in about fifteen minutes if we're not careful. apparently we did.
all i have to say is this... we watched Across the Universe last night, and I wasn't the only one who sniffled. I think my heart just melted, y'all.
anyway...
I got myself something a little more disturbing tonight - i enjoy psychodramas and rosario dawson is gorgeous, especially on the cover of Descent, tonight's movie choice. i'm going to have my date with myself tonight, instead, which means getting off the internet so I can get to bed at a decent hour and still have time for the rest of it.
I made the most beautiful necklace last night. Unfortunately I can't take a picture of it! It appears my camera has officially bitten the dust (or the sand, as the case may be). I'm in the market for a new one, but first, I'll have to get rid of some of this:
And in the meantime I'll just tell you about the new design, which I'm really into. It's a longer necklace and the prototype involves green kyanite, copper bells, horn, turquoise, rose quartz, citrines, and robles wood hanging on a 21" sterling silver chain. I'm suddenly very into it, this longer-necklace thing, and looking forward to my next little spurt of energy and inspiration so I can create a related series of them.
I'm kind of surprised at how attached I am to having (or not having, as the case may be) a digital camera. Thus, after I get the bills paid, I'll be putting my Etsy sales toward this little dandy right here, which is perfectly suited to my business and pleasure needs (and, at 12 megapixels, 3 times the resolution of the camera I just dropped into the ocean). It's also really small with a large screen and weatherproof casing. Just in case I do something stupid again...
I'll let you know how the movie is tomorrow (and more as a reminder to myself than anything I'll be talking about a new little morning ritual I've begun that's already had profound effects after only two days!)
